Job Description

The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures in an effective and efficient manner ensuring that vendors are paid within established time limits. 

Essential Duties:

  1. Acquires a thorough working knowledge of the various automated systems.  Becomes proficient in all functions of the systems and assists in the training of accounts payable specialists.
  2. Receive and verify invoices for payment.
  3. Verify that transactions are in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  4. Ensure, by being familiar with approval levels/limits that the appropriate approval for payment has been secured prior to processing invoices. 
  5. Enter invoices into the Yardi system for payment.
  6. Ensure that invoices processed through Avid are batched and brought into Yardi timely.
  7. Serves as a vendor liaison.
  8. Manage check runs and ACH runs.
  9. Acquires a thorough working knowledge of the various automated systems.  Becomes proficient in   all functions of the systems and assists in the training of other accounting personnel.
  10. Monitors and records travel expenses to ensure compliance with corporate travel policies.
  11. Prepares and files 1099’s.
  12. Interact with internal and external customers timely and effectively.
  13. Must be a proven team leader.
  14. Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel
  • Experience with Avid Exchange, Yardi familiarity a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Accuracy and ability to meet numerous deadlines
