Job Description

Responsible for leading the information technology (IT), data, and innovation strategies for a global real estate organization. The successful candidate will have the ability to drive a culture of innovation and possess an understanding of the global digital economy and its impact related to the intersection of real estate and technology.

The candidate will collaborate with internal technology-driven business leaders to identify and prioritize innovative opportunities that incorporate transformative technologies, including predictive analytics, to streamline the growth and augment the decision-making associated with the investment real estate platform.

The role requires oversight of all global real estate technology needs, including but not limited to operational systems, information & cyber security, compliance & governance IT controls, data governance, data strategy, & business intelligence, application development & support, infrastructure buildout & support, business process improvements & process excellence, cloud management and security, mobile device & applications support, digital transformation, project management, telecommunications, IT vendor relationship management, and support of new business initiatives & acquisitions as they pertain to Information Technology.

Essential Duties:

  • Foster a culture of innovation, process automation, and data-driven decision-making solutions
  • Stay abreast of digital economy trends driving the intersection of real assets and technology to serve as a trusted technology advisor to business leaders
  • Maintain vision and roadmap for IT projects, cloud-based solutions, and data strategy
  • Develop and maintain a workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, process excellence, and technical skills required to achieve business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships across the firm to inform, understand, guide and execute on all business needs related to IT, data and innovation
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the IT leadership team and staff
  • Foster real estate IT industry relationships and access to best practices
  • Cultivate a partnership mentality with IT vendors to boost innovation, communication-sharing, and overall technology return-on-investment
  • Accountable for a high-availability, global computing infrastructure, including planning and management of IT operations and support, systems and database/data warehouse administration, business continuity and network operations, information security, and data privacy
  • Oversee the management of third-party information security penetration tests, threat assessments, web application security, IT general controls, and application testing audits (SOC 1, Type 2, or Sarbanes Oxley)
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or relevant degree field
  • 15+ years of technology experience with demonstrated skills in IT strategic planning, application development or support, data strategy, or programming
  • 7+ years of IT management experience with proven record of developing and motivating a team to achieve high performance
  • Experience working in the commercial real estate industry with real estate applications including Yardi and Argus
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehouse, data governance, and data management strategies
  • Must be willing to work on-site and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or request and receive an authorized exemption)
  • Occasional travel is required to attend or participate in technology forums, investor meetings, or internal technology strategy sessions in remote offices
  • Must be able to work in the United States, without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Qualifications may warrant placement in different job title
